I have an external hard drive I want to use for my Teclast Pro. Especially for backups.
But the tablet will hardly recognize it. It knows something is connected to the usb port, but that’s it.
Question? Do I need a powered hub? Can the tablet power a motor driven hard drive? I dont think so. Any suggestions on a powered hub?
Thank you!
Anyone ever used a powered USB hub?
yes me,
but i have no experiences about attached mechanical hd to a powered usb.
anyway it should work if the problem lies on insufficient voltage when directly connected to the tablet
What I've used and what I've got: TECLAST X98 AIR 3G, TECLAST X98 AIR II, TECLAST X98 PRO,CHUWI HI8, CHUWI HI12, CUBE I9
I have the same problem. The tablet can’t make my external hdd works.

USB hub with external power
Thanks for tour reply…but I have that exact usb hub. It doesn’t have external power.
This one has a microusb input on the opposite side of cable. You can see it on the 3d pic in description. Do you have the same hub?
Yes, I have that input…So that’s why it has relay protection!
Did you try to plug in HDD to hub and also put a power for example from PC?
Did it work?
