I just did all this.
– tried to apply the 1.02 BIOS update but it said it was already updated
– made driver backups with Double Driver (available in files section here)
– extracted my Win10 key with OEM-DM.exe (available in files section here)
– used Parted Magic (bootable USB) to create a clone of entire disk as it came from Teclast
– performed factory reset, inspected results, pleased enough to keep rather than installing OS totally fresh
– waited until November Win10 update (1511) downloaded and installed
– created a new clone imageI’m now installing apps / configuring system to my liking / fretting over just how low its performance can be. Then I’ll make yet another clone image in case something goes wrong later.

So, i’ll buy a hub usb. Do you recommend any?

Hi Alexandra, thanks for the info!
Regarding “Perform factory reset” , you mean in Windows? Android? Both?
Also, I’ve heard that Teclast split the drive 50:50 between Android and Windows. Do you know if there is a way to change it to a ..80:20 \ 70:30 as it makes more sense to me?
Thanks!

Excuse me again, there are procedures that explain how to flash the BIOS, and how to put a clean image of Windows 10?

A word of caution about purchasing the BangGood OTG charging USB hub. I ordered the sameUSB hub recommended by Chris for use with my Chuwi Hi8 Product ID 975460. CLICK HERE Ordered on 29 Dec 15. Works 100% fine with the Chuwi Hi8. However, when connected to my new X98 Plus Dual Boot it doesn’t. Using option 1: reads USB but no charging. Option 2 & 3: charge only. Before purchasing i would specifically ask BangGood or whoever, to confirm that the hub will work properly with the X98 Plus Dual boot. I suspect the solution will be found elsewhere.

Fred, is the drive split 50:50 ? If so, do you know how (if possible) to change the ratio?February 11, 2016 at 12:45 am #25668Hi Alexandra, thanks for the info! Ah, I only meant in Windows. I have the Windows-only version of the X98 Plus.
It seems likely you could adjust partition sizes like I did with a tool like Parted Magic, but I’ve never specifically messed with Android partitions like that.February 12, 2016 at 9:29 pm #25834Before purchasing i would specifically ask BangGood or whoever, to confirm that the hub will work properly with the X98 Plus Dual boot. X98plus does NOT allow OTG charging. It has nothing to do with the cable but EFI. See the other specific threads.
