You can get your key in a number of ways, my favourite is to enter the following at a command line:
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
It’s a good idea to save your key as soon as possible just in case. However, when asked for the key during Windows installation do not enter one! The BIOS key should be detected later on.
Before doing anything I would use a disk imaging package to save the current state of the tablet (my preference is Macrium Reflect).
I believe you have the correct version of windows, but you can double check by right clicking on the “start button” and going to System. You don’t want to even attempt booting an installation USB with the wrong version of Windows on it.
Manual installation of drivers can cause issues, sometimes not everything gets installed. If possible use individual installation packages for just the devices that Windows doesn’t manage to sort out itself.
By the way, you probably won’t achieve much in terms of performance by doing this, it seems from the review on this site that the Plus is slow but with a long battery life.
January 25, 2016 at 8:20 am #23579Everything is working except for the cameras. Probably driver related. Any ideas or tips?
January 25, 2016 at 12:49 pm #23603There is no point to “clean install” when Windows 10 reset function does everything for you perfectly fine while leaving the drivers intact.
January 25, 2016 at 2:32 pm #23621I concur, after a reset there is no trace of any asian language, old user and no malware/bloatware in sight.
Keeps all the drivers etc, although I guess a clean install might shave a small amount of disk space as the language packs are probably in the background still.
January 25, 2016 at 2:36 pm #23622I had to do a clean install because reset got stuck at 26% and then I got an error when I forced a reset.
For me camera driver wasnt signed and it was not installed. You have to restart windows with a special way to let it be installed. Check here http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/two-problems-after-a-clean-install/
You could also try the drivers another friend suggested after my question.
