Hi guys, I got the x98 Air 3g (C8J6) 64GB dual boot version a couple of weeks ago, having some problems though… I get random shutdowns every now and then, even when just surfing the web the tablet will sometimes just shutdown when running windows, It doesn’t feel hot or anything….
Anyone else have same problems and is there any solutions?
Regards Daniel
June 16, 2015 at 1:23 pm #6014Daniel, do you see Windows actually shut down properly with a shut down screen, or does the tablet simply “die” and go blank?

It simply just dies and go blank yes =/

i got those too in Win, due to overheating. had to tweak windows a bit
July 3, 2015 at 3:29 pm #6501Hi Nadavmil, pls could you share the tweaks in this forum .mine is having a similar problem. Thanks.
mine c5j6 64gb is also having somewhat similar problem. sometimes randomly shuts off screen going blank . sometimes shutting down icon is displayed. this happens very very often when the tablet is charging and temperature reaches 70-73. surprisingly when the tablet is not charging and i use it ,i have seen temperatures at around 78-79 without shutting off. when i run heavy apps the temp increases shuts off goes blank. Thermal design of these tablets is not good.
July 8, 2015 at 6:12 am #6658Check this link – it has a screenshot. Basically, you go to the power management options, and under Processor power management set the System cooling policy to passive. I have no idea what the long-range effect of this will be. Might shorten the life of the tablet, but it seems like they are not built to last. Still – at this price, if it lasts more than I year then we broke even vs. a “normal” tablet 🙂
July 12, 2015 at 4:59 pm #6820Thanks for the link. Tried all the software tweaks on my tab c5j6, random shutdown/blank screen shutoff problem still persists.it is h/w issue.
October 1, 2015 at 6:11 am #12288Even my X98 3g 64gb c9j6 shutdown randomly under Windows 10 just browsing. Could it be a bios version problem?
October 11, 2015 at 11:32 am #13030My X98 3g c5j6 shuts down within the first minute in Android AND Win10. And yes, it gets hot v quickly. Many ppl have this issue when playing 3G games. I installed the teclast’s own fix, but improvement.
Has anyone overcome this?
I tried getting a refund from QH-store but they want the tablet sent through. Unfortunately, sending lithium battery items is agains the regs in Australia, and my package was returned.
Any ideas?
January 9, 2016 at 5:51 pm #21684I have 2 of these teclast tablets that I purchased last month. Both are having thermal(over heating) issues because of design flaws in these tablets. Hence I dont expect these to last long, but I hope my house does not catch on fire while charging these batteries (stock charger and tablet both get super hot while charging).
