    Hi,

Since I’ve used both I would go for the practical machine, full usb ports and a keyboard dock. The Hi10 screen is still very nice. And quite sharp and bright. The Hi10 performs better than the X98 Plus in my testing and experience with them.

I’m in a similar boat. I’ve got an i5 13″ laptop for demanding stuff, but want a 10 incher for casual use, mostly browsing the web and trying Android (I’ve got a Windows Phone). Initially I was looking at the Surface 3, but it’s getting on a bit & and is a lot more money. So I’m looking as well at the Chuwi Hi10 & Teclast Plus, they’re much the same price and spec. Chuwi has USB3 & slightly more performant whereas the Teclast is a bit more “premium” build and design. Performance doesn’t seem to be that different & as I say I’ve got my laptop for more demanding stuff, so the premium build of the Teclast is edging me towards it right now.

I wonder if there’s anything new on the horizon (MWC this week) or if there’s anything else to consider that would give one of these the edge over the other? Teclast looks to be opening up in Europe (I’m in the UK) so I’m tempted to wait and see what happens, though I’d rather get something sooner than later.

Chris, do you think the compromises these Chinese tabs make in comparison to the S3 are worth the savings? Part of me still thinks I should go for the Surface 3 for build quality, reliability, support, better sound, etc & I can always scour eBay hoping to pay £160 vs the £160 of the Teclast/Chuwi.

Thanks (and thanks for this great site).

Thank you for your input 🙂

I’ll look a little bit more and see if I can find anything that is more powerful than the Atom X5 Z8300, and if it is worth it. Also as harrylass said, see if there’s anything new comming in the nearest. Otherwise the Chuwi looks very good.

Why is a powerful CPU needed on a tablet? Would not the screen be the most important thing? Passive cooling can only do so much and for gaming just get a desktop that’s much more powerful. Well, outside of like hearthstone on a tablet.
