Redmi 7 hotspot providing internet from mobile data

Hi Chris, your reviews of the Redmi note 7 phones are excellent.

Could test for the follow following:-

1. Connect the Redmi 7 to the mobile network (i.e. to the telecom)

2. Turn on the Redmi 7 Hot Spot

3. Then connect a device such as laptop, tablet or another phone via the Hot Spot

4.  If the device connects ok check if the device has internet access (i.e. has internet connectivity from the phone’s hotspot.

This is an important feature/service to have on a phone.

Does anyone have hotspot experience with the Redmi Note 7 the new model in the now separate branding under the Xiaomi umbrella.

I’m having serious problems connecting to Verizon Wireless and I’m starting to wonder if this is just me or if others have experienced similar issues. My calls drop unexpectedly, my data connection is very slow, and I often find myself in places with no connection at all.
Is this just bad luck or has anyone had a similar experience with Verizon Wireless? I’m starting to lose faith in the service and don’t know what to do. Can anyone shed some light on this?
