    You don’t need to remove emmc! Once windows is installed on M2 SSD, you can use the emmc as free space to use as you want.

    I did it on a Chuwi Lapbook 12,3″. I just use Easeus to move system from emmc to SSD. It works fine.

    I did it too on a Bealink S1 mini PC. Fresh installation. Emmc can be used as storage for documents!

    On the laptops you have done this on how would you return them to “out of factory state”

    On Windows Macrium Reflect Free also works well for drive/partition imaging, backup, and restore.
    On Linux, you could install Manjaro Linux onto a USB drive, boot that, and use the Linux ‘gpartedpartition manager program and the ‘dd‘ command line terminal program to create/format partitions and copy any partition’s content exactly from one partition to another.
    On Linux you can also use the GUI program qt4-fsarchiver instead of using ‘dd‘.
