Hi all,
I got fed up with Windows 10 running badly on my Vi8 Plus single boot. I decided to get rid of it so I made a system image and backup and jumped right in!
The problem is no OS will work with my Wifi or the touch screen. I have read that the latest kernel should work with most atoms out of the box but I an’t get a single distro to work. I searched for the Vi8 Plus drivers but it is insanely difficult due to the original Vi8 and there seems to be a lot of confusion over what OS the plus comes with!
The only distro that wouldn’t load was Ubuntu (I then used the respin version which installed OK).
I have installed:
- Android x86
- Fedora
- Cloudready
- Ubuntu (linuxium respin)
I have also tried as live:
I am looking for the correct and up to date drivers/method to install any of these, as the problem seems to be the same. I found some gis files for the wifi rtl823bs and touchscreen gslx680 but I’m not 100% sure that’s what the Vi8 Plus has!
If anyone has any advice/knowhow I would really appreciate it! I’m going to attempt to install the gis files tonight so will update if I get it working…
