quite a high chance that the procedure would be the same as the iwork10… which means you need to make a custom boot.img for your tablet, not that easy
April 18, 2016 at 6:14 pm #34140I actually managed to root the tablet by using a custom Teclast X98 TWRP image, but it killed my wifi. I had to reinstall the stock rom to get WiFi back.
Now I just have to properly port that ROM to our good old Cube…May 23, 2016 at 4:50 pm #38374Did u port it already? anyway good luck and thx.
May 30, 2016 at 7:13 pm #39179There really isn’t anything too special with gaining root access. Procedure is the same than on any other Android device – with couple of device specific quirks. Unlock bootloader -> install TWRP recovery -> install boot image that disables dm-verity and force encryption -> install SuperSU zip in TWRP.
In addition to building TWRP for this device, I’ve also built CyanogenMod 12.1. That’s a rare treat as AFAIK this is the first Intel Cherry Trail device to have CM. Didn’t take long to get all the hardware working. Just finished ironing out rest of the minor issues I had noticed. Will probably still test for couple of days before releasing and need to find time to write all the installation guides, too.
Couple of tweets (pictures or it didn’t happen ;)).
Built #TWRP recoveries for my tablets. Time to renew my interest in doing some Android dev? pic.twitter.com/8MeDMKCfdz

May 31, 2016 at 5:16 pm #39371Eh, really wanted to open a new thread here. Wrote a long nice post and only got a 403 error. 🙁 You’ll find me at MoDaCo forums as always. Will check this forum too and maybe open some development discussion thread here later if I can.
Here’s what I released today:
TWRP 3.0.2-0 and instructions how to unlock the bootloader.
How to disable dm-verity/unencrypt, root and navigation bar mod.

Yes. Dual-boot menu works just like before. There’s no option to boot directly from CM12.1 to Windows, though.
