Screen cracked

I’ve had my Hi10 for 3 months, and put it in my backpack on my last trip to NYC. Didn’t even use it, but when I got home the screen was cracked. Boo.

Though it was a loss. I did some research and found that I’d only broken the touch screen and it could be replaced. So I ordered a replacement. It came in today.. Went to YouTube and found how to open it up and how to replace a touchscreen. 30 minutes later I have a sweet Chuwi Hi10, that is no longer cracked!.

This thing is awesome.

Yestarday I opened my backpack and also I found my chuwi hi10 screen broken 🙁

The lcd screen works good, I can see perfectly the imatges, but the touch screen doesn’t work.

I can not find any video in youtube explaining how to repair.

 

Can you pass me the youtube video link and where you bought the touch screen?

First open the tablet, to gain access to the ribbon cable going to the touch screen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVENVovN068

Next you have to disconnect the ribbon cable and then remove the broken touch screen. It is taped on. I had to heat mine up a little to soften up the glue to get the touch screen separated from the frame of the tablet. Be careful releasing the ribbon cable! I had to use a magnifying glass. I bought the replacement for AliExpress for about $20 shipped to USA. Only took 3 weeks to get it.
