I work for a construction company. We have been tasked with building a parking lot next to an office building. However, we have encountered a problem: the old utility drawings have not been preserved. We are considering ordering a survey of the area before starting work.
Has anyone else experienced this? How justified is it in terms of budget?

I also work in this field. Have you done a preliminary survey of the site yet, or are you planning to do so? We were in a similar situation when we built a warehouse. At first, we hesitated because of the cost, too. During the scanning process, Maya Global specialists not only showed us the location of pipes and cables but they also performed underground void detection. And found some cavities we didn’t even know existed in this area. This information helped us change the placement of some structures and avoid future subsidence. Ultimately, the survey cost less than potential rework due to mistakes, so I concluded that it’s better to check everything in advance.

If you’re looking into underground infrastructure detection, it’s smart to combine modern scanning tools with expert experience. Companies like ropeaccessinlondon.co.uk specialize in high-access and technical work, so they can safely inspect tricky areas. Getting professional guidance early can save time, costs, and prevent unexpected damage.
