Has anyone else seen this problem?

I am going to try and charge the batteries externally and measure the voltage across the batteries. If the batteries hold charge then I will try power it up.

If it still behaves the same way, I will flash the bios (unbrick method).

I have seen some videos on internet on how to do this. If anyone has any more info, please let me know.

    Sorry for the stupid question.

Have you tried to just press the power button and when the battery animation start pressing that button for a while ( a longer than normal but not so long or the tablet will switch off)

What I've used and what I've got:
    TECLAST X98 AIR 3G, TECLAST X98 AIR II, TECLAST X98 PRO,CHUWI HI8, CHUWI HI12, CUBE I9

I have tried this but it doesn’t work. I will open the tablet today and try charging the battery externally with a 3.7V from a regulated supply. I will charge it for half an hour and see if this helps.

I noticed that from the very beginning the my tablet didn’t charge when it was switched off. Because I left it without use for a day without much battery, the battery may have drained completely. Now it would start to charge when it powers on then switches of due to low charge. But doesn’t charge when switched off as before. I think it is a software issue rather than hardward. If get it working this time. I will flash the tablet with the latest firmware and see if this works.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Okay. So it’s not the battery.

I opened the tablet (which was not easy without breaking anything but managed to do it thanks to TECHTablets videos on YouTube).

I measured the battery with two different voltmeters and they measured 3.7V which means they are fully charged. Last time when I left the tablet it was on windows. I think it is the windows partition which thinks the battery is low.

I don’t know what to do. Only thing I can think of is reprogramming the ROM externally. I wish I could find some videos on how to do this.

it looks familiair to mine x98 pro.

What i do when the battery is flat.
power on the tablet, red battery icon will appear, and it shuts down.

Then connect the charger, power on the tablet , bios screen shows up , and after that the tablet shows green charging icon, and shutsdown.

Then i leave it charging for about +/- 10min.
dissconnect the carher, turn on the tablet again.
as soon as i see the windows bootscreen, (white balls in a circle)  i reconnect the charger, and i can use the tablet.

I just tought it is the way teclast works 😛 , so i didn’t spend any time on it to check what causes this.

    Hi,

did you try the followig combination:

“- press the power button for more than 10-30 sec.”

“- press power button and volume up” together for more than 10 sec.

Did you try to update your Bios?

    Sorry, for the late reply.

I tried everything. I have tried programming the BIOS by opening up the tablet. The programming went fine. It still does the same thing. It powers up showing Teclast in English and Chinese then shows red battery icon then dies. When I connect a charger it shows green battery charging after the Teclast logo then dies. I know the battery is fully charged I have measured it at 3.69V.

I think my device has become useless. What a waste of money.

I have the exactly same problem for my teclast x98 pro.. There was no problem with my tablet then, I turned it on ( it had 50% charge) but it do anything… I pressed the buttons long time many times nothing changed. Then I charged it many times but nothing changed…

Every time I plug to charge it shows green battery sign and then go off… Do you have a solution? I dont want to throw it away… I should have never buy teclast…

I did exactly the same and it didn’t work. I even flashed the bios by opening the tablet and flashing the bios using connector. Everything flashed fine but the problem remains the same.

Then I used the original charger that I got with tablet. I repeated step and the tablet came back to life. Hurray!! Looks like the tablet would not charge if I use a 2A charger. The one which came with the tablet is a 2.5A charger which charges the tablet correctly.

Voodoo child, use the original charger which came with the tablet. If you don’t have one, buy one which provides atleast 2.5A output. Charge the tablet for sometime and it should come back to life.

Let me know how it goes.
