Hi Dennis … thanks again … I wasn’t using the supplied charger so perhaps that was the problem … I’m trying it now. I’ve also discovered I’m not getting any audio through the HDMI port to a TV … I’ve searched but don’t see any reference to this particular problem on the forum … the audio settings in the control panel all appear to be correct (ie the TV is the default sound output) … but it gives an error when ‘testing’ it (plus any other sound output like an mp3 file). I know that the video driver related to sound output (Intel) also needs to be installed and working and I have updated the Intel drivers to the latest version but I can’t see what else I can do. I’m sorry for all these questions – perhaps I should start another thread as we’ve gone off-topic?

I had problems with HDMI too, I solved it for myself and after that for some others here on the forum.
My problem was the HDMI plug does not logde in deep enough. I cut away about 1-2mm of plastic around the cable’s plug. I can imagine your Audio pins are not connecting properly?
But maybe this is not true, I have no knowledge of the HDMI standard. It could very well be that video and audio go over the same pins so either you have nothing or you have it all: sound and video.
If my suggestion doesnt solve it maybe somebody else can help…?!
November 25, 2015 at 8:27 pm #16696Dennis, I got lost – there so many problems described, but I didn’t manage to find the cure for mine. I read all this topic and I will follow exactly what you recommended, without updating the BIOS.
My Pro (K9C6) crashes under Android – black screen, difficult to boot after, strange charging time, etc. Since it is used mainly by my spouse (a faulty birthday present, don’t ask me how I feel now), she stays most of the time in Android OS. I promise to check and report how it handles under the Windows after the updates.
Is there any detailed topic for the Android crashing as well?
What I got from Geekbuying.com, which were nice to respond twice already, is a reply with a suggestion to try to install the latest firmware and flash:

I’m sorry to say I have no experience in crashes under Android. Have read about it though. And it sounds the same too… So you did the BIOS entering and switch off IGD Turbo option (disabled)?
If you did that, I’m out of options for you… If you did not, try right away!

Meanwhile I updated the Intel driver and made 31 updates using the Driver Booster program.

You say you updated drivers from Intel and via driver booster? Isnt that all under windows?
Then that wont solve problems under android, to my knowledge there is little to nothing to do in Android with drivers sorry…
-Maybe re-install the whole tablet (get the images of it from the download pages)
-Maybe try the BIOS upgrade anyway (although the IGD Turbo you will probably only notice under windows)

Once more thanks again for your reply from the 23rd November … long time … apologies … it’s been busy … so … have used teclast charger and all working fine regarding 100% battery after charging … also HDMI cable … yes – getting it plugged in a bit further did the trick! (regarding audio) … things have stabilised using the tablet … currently no surprises – it even upgraded itself to the latest Windows version 1511 without any problem! Bloody battery life but there we go.

No problem, we have to help eachother I think. Good to hear all the tricks work. Thats what you need with Teclast: lots of tricks. They responded to my posts on their facebook that I need to send it back to my retail shop. DUH! They just ignore all the problems.
I broke my original charger, as I mentioned in other posts it just cannot handle the current that the tablet asks so its burnt now. But good news, the 3A replacement I found op dealextreme.com can work after all. When just plugging in while windows is running shows about 0.5A charge current which is way too slow. But…when I keep it plugged in and reboot the tablet starts to charge with 2.4Amps and when windows is booted it stays 2.4A! So I’m saved for now because if you need to contact Teclast for a new charger……..good luck….!
Well, keep the faith in this tablet. After a couple of extensive charge (12hours) discharges I now get approx. 4-5 hours of battery life

Hi guys, a trick I found with this tablet (my unit at least) is to plug the USB cable in the tablet and the charger BEFORE plugging the charger in the wall.
You can also get it to charge powering it off or rebooting, but I have managed to get it to charge at a fast rate using that trick.
For those that have added the registry keys to enable the “Maximum processor state” parameter, here’s a table with the CPU maximum frequency for each percentage:
33% 480 MHz
40% 560 MHz
50% 720 MHz
65% 880 MHz
75% 1040 MHz
80% 1120 MHz
85% 1200 MHz
90% 1280 MHz
95% 1360 MHz
99% 1440 MHz

After a period of working well, I shut down from windows to charge it and now all that happens is that it goes to the BIOS screen and that’s it … no more option to choose which operating system to boot into. I’ve changed a few settings in the BIOS but nothing works. I’ve also left the tablet alone for a few hours but it’s still the same (on charge and off). I’ve seen elsewhere in the forum about other users having the same problem and trying things like updating the BIOS etc but I’m reluctant to do this if Banggood will not acknowledge warranty. I assume where it says in the BIOS to exit and ‘reset’ that means it loads the stored copy of Windows/Android and basically you have to start all over again. Do you think this will fix things? Again I would be worried about invalidating the warranty. What a nightmare.

Seems indeed you need to do the BIOS update, have a look at the attachment here they describe the symptom (which you can see in the bios)
Good to know Banggood is as bad as Gearbest. One more shop I wont be visiting. Besides, sending the damn thing back is too expensive, you will alsoe be re-charged by your local customs for the replacement tablet (or even your repaired one) when you get it back.
If the symptom in the document matches what you see (or you just want to DO SOMETHING) do the BIOS upgrade from the other post

I was thinking yesterday that the X98 Pro is really the first tablet (at a reasonable price) to have the performance, a high res screen, a 4:3 aspect ratio plus both Windows and Android. This is a winning combination in my opinion and hopefully future versions will have improvements in every respect. There are no similar spec alternatives out there as far as I can tell – the Surface Pro 4 would be nice to have if money = no object – but even that doesn’t have Android. So I’m really hoping that things stabilise on it for a year or so. I suppose Teclast should be given a lot of credit for getting the tablet out there in the market albeit with a few teething problems!
