Hey guys, I just signed up to write on how I managed to stop the x98 pro from shutting down and blacking out randomly. I had tried the IGD turbo off in bios and also the registry files to set the cpu to passive, but even after those I still got the blackouts.

I cant update my bios yet (still waiting on the usb hub to come in mail), but what I have found to work for me so far its been 4 days and tablet has been super stable, I charged it up to 100% and drained it down to 5% about 5 times now with no power blackouts of any kind, all I did was download Driver Booster 3 (its free) and updated about 32 drivers it reccemonded to update that were out of date, including the chipset drivers, audio, video, almost all components drivers were old and new ones available.

So what I suspect is the new drivers fixed whatever power issue was causing the blackouts.

Im happy I have this resolved without having to update the bios (read of reports of tablets getting bricked).

Try it and see if it helps!

Thanks, I will download it and check it out. I hope it’s not also installing malware like most of those apps do?

Browsing the cnet download page, fyi Driver Booster 3 has had 15m+ downloads which seems to indicate against it containing malware. Main grumbles relate to the constant barrage of ads.

Yep the program is a legit company, just ignore their ads that ask you to upgrade to paid version, the free one does the job fine.
