Hello! Long time android user/rooter/tech guy here, first time poster, first time windows tablet user.

I’m loving this tablet and pretty much everything about it, but there’s something really really big missing and I need help filling in the blank, and this is where I start to feel stupid.

When I plug my tablet into any computer, while booted in windows 10, no computer will recognize I’m even plugging anything in. And what’s weirder, I tried plugging in my galaxy s6 edge+ to the tablet via the adapter that came with it, and all it did was start stealing the charge from my phone! You’d think with it being pure windows 10, plugging a phone into it would make it try and detect the new device and install s6 edge+ drivers, but nope! Booting it into Android makes it so any computer can recognize it instantly, but of course I have a 64 gb sd card, and this version of Android can’t read it. So clearly there’s a switch of some kind that I have not figured out how to flip to make it communicate with other devices correctly, be it a driver or something of some kind, so here’s questions:

    1. Does the tablet itself need a driver installed on it that can change what the USB port is told to do (charge only, data transfer, etc), or is everything already loaded and I’m missing something?
    2. Do the computers you connect it to need a separate driver installed on them before the device can be recognized while booted in windows 10? The only drivers I’m able to find I can’t figure out what the hell you do with em.
    3. Is it simply impossible to get windows 10 to recognize that port as anything but a charging port?

Honestly, I’d probably delete the android partition and stick strictly to windows to save space, but that’s definitely not an option if I can’t transfer anything to any device of any kind while in Windows 10, as if the USB port is dedicated to only charge and nothing else. What am I missing?

    edit:

Things that work- Jump drive, mouse, keyboard, multi usb hub

Things that don’t- Tablet to PC, Phone to tablet (not that I need the latter it’s just odd that it doesn’t work)

I don’t understand what you mean “plug my tablet into any computer”.

    Maybe noone does.

Could be the reason why you don’t get any answers.
