Hi,
I’ve been digging around the forum and I found a lot of confusion: a lot of versions, problems etc.At the moment, I’m waiting for my EZ Book 3 Pro to arrive from GearBest (wish me luck, tracking not active yet). It will probably mount a V6 locked BIOS.
I’ve read about many issues in recognizing/booting many SSDs.
Could you please share which SSDs 2242 work with no issues on V6 without the need of any mod?
Thanks a lot
February 4, 2018 at 10:03 pm #78846I’m in the same situation. I know people wrote that kingspec have problems but I’m really cheap bastard so I ordered 128gb version for like 40$ from aliexpress 😀 for that kind of money you cannot buy 128gb ssd drive in my country.
February 5, 2018 at 6:51 am #78852KingSpec 256GB works perfectly fine on mine. Bios is V6.
February 5, 2018 at 10:01 pm #79036@Kenneth that’s promising info 🙂 thanks m8
February 5, 2018 at 10:08 pm #79037im also using a kingspec 256gb without a problem. (V5 bios unlocked)
February 7, 2018 at 2:37 pm #79107How is the Kingspec doing in terms of speed? Temperature and battery drain OK?
Also looking at the 128GB version for $37 (aliexpress).Cheapest alternative is Transcent MTS400 128GB for €48 (Europe).
February 8, 2018 at 3:44 am #79121No issues with temp and battery drain when I was using it but I can’t check it out further as it’s now seconded “temporarily” to my S.O and she likes it too much to give it back, dang. LOL! But I guess it really depends on what you do.
I’d say go for the 256GB, they don’t cost a whole lot more and you get more bang for your buck in terms of speed and storage. My Kingspec 256GB on Crystal Mark 6.0, YMMV. Speeds would probably lower for the 128GB.
Seq Q32T1: Read 529.0 MB/s, Write 474.3 MB/s
4KiB Q8T8: Read 244.3 MB/s, Write 204.1 MB/s
4KiB Q32T1: Read 96.13 MB/s, Write 81.52 MB/s
4KiB Q1T1: Read 13.49 MB/s, Write 52 MB/sFebruary 8, 2018 at 1:01 pm #79126I have a KingSpec NT512 installed. NO issues, excep the write speed is poor. Only 68 Mb/sec (Sequential). the Read performance is OK 512 MB/sec.
Any clues? Unlocked V6 bios.
February 14, 2018 at 9:31 am #79442@Kenneth do you install windows on kingspec ssd? But my kingspec 128G ssd can not install windows 10! Thank you!
