I’ve been browsing this site for ages, with a view to buying a cheap windows tablet (thanks for all the reviews Chris!). I popped into my local Currys yesterday (in the UK) to see what they had on offer, and came across a deal on a Surface 3 – 128gb, 4gb ram). The sales guy couldn’t tell me why, but they had 1 left new in the box, for £296 (retail is £499 – although they are selling them currently for £429).
Although it’s way better than I need, I didn’t want to miss out, so I bought it. Looking at the box, I think it is old stock, as it states that it comes with Windows 8.1. That doesn’t particularly bother me, but I had a couple of questions that I’m hoping someone can help with…
Have there been any hardware revisions to the Surface 3? Or is the model I’ve got exactly the same, hardware wise? Are there any downsides to upgrading to windows 10 over getting one with it pre-installed? I there were bluetooth issues with the early models – was that fixed with firmware upgrades?
I’ve got 3 weeks to return it if I don’t want it… Then I could go back to my original plan of getting a chuwi…..
