Tablet stuck in BIOS

Hi guys…

I’ve received this morning my Teclast X98 Plus unit, and it has been a road to desperation since de moment I push the I/O button.

After turn it on, first booting Android, setting accounts, etc, the device reboot itself with no reason. Ok, sometimes it may happen.
After a using Android for a while, getting a browser, testing antutu, unistalling chinese stuff, you know, just checking up, I decided to boot in Windows 10 for the first time. The system takes some time setting itself up and configuring, and after a while I’m in the desktop, just looking around how this pretty little thing can run windows that smoothly.

BUT, suddenly, the system shows an error, a light blue screen (of death I guess) with a : ( sad face and says it has to reboot after collecting some data about the error to send a report to microsoft.

Well, when it reboots, the device goes into the BIOS. And no matter what you do, it always will boot in the BIOS. It just goes out the BIOS to enter in DNX Fasboot Mode, where it stays waiting for instruccions…

OK, I say, let’s try to recover it. Download the package Teclast provides to transform de X98 Plus Windows Only Device into a DUAL OS one, skip the updating BIOS step, proceed to install the requested drivers on my computer, and then began the procedure to flash Android in the X98 Plus with the “Intel Phone Flash Tool”. It begins to go through some steps, and after a while it shows some error, in the flashing software, after it tries to create the partition table. Besides, the tablet shows some message in red on the bottom of the display: “Partitions are bigger than the disk, partitions 25374 MiB disk 1877 MiB”.

I’ve tried the procedure using two different computers, and downloading the flashing package twice, just in case it were corrupted…

I’ve seen some other thread of a X98 Pro user, with the same problem, and as far I understand, he returned his tablet expecting getting a new one.

 

Have any of you any idea to make this tablet work at last?

Sorry to hear, sounds awful.

Honestly since you just got it and it was acting poorly right out of the box I would consider seeking a replacement with the seller. Push for them to pay return fees, if possible. Returning is a pain in the ass when we’re talking about China and its long ship times, but you will have peace of mind when you get a new one that actually works like it should.
