I’m having the EXACT same problem, but nobody seems to want to help. I just got this tablet a few days ago and it worked initially, but now, no boot, no charging light, no nothing. It DOES still get warm when I plug it in though, so the tablet is getting power.

I figure if the admins see my name enough on these pages, they’ll take notice eventually

Well for one the Admins are not official support for Tbook, cube, chuwi or any other brand!

Maybe you have a warranty issue. Contact your seller/manufacturer.

People might *want* to help, but there is only so much I can do thousands of kilometers away.

Now lithium batterys can be a bit funny. Yes everyone knows if they were overcharged they could be dangerous… But they are just as dangerous (maybe more) if the charge goes too low.

If it goes too low the battery “FALLS ASLEEP” and won’t charge.

Somewhere under 3.3 V off memory but I’d need to double check.

Both situations require clever charging circuitry.

    Most lithium batteries have it.

When a battery says 0% it’s not zero percent… There’s a safety margin that stops the voltage going to low – metal shunts forming in the battery and… well it’s not good…

If it was ME I’d be inclined to open the tablet and with a multimeter check the voltage of the battery.

You just bought it? OK… batteries don’t reach full capacity for their first few charge cycles…They may not hold their charge for their first few charge cycles…

    MORE IMPORTANTLY.

IT IS NOT GOOD PRACTICE TO FLATTEN LITHIUM ION BATTERIES.

Yes they don’t have a ‘memory’ in the traditional sense of Ni-MH or moreso Ni-CD where you HAD to flatten them.

but lithium shouldn’t really go under 20 percent (android usually has that special warning at 14 percent?)…  You’ll reduce the life of your battery.

And if you’re storing them – full – that ages them too. They will not have the same maximum available capacity. Its better to store them at 40-60%…

If you store them flat they might fall asleep and then they won’t charge again.

    Ok! That definitely helps.

My apologies. I am rather irrationally impatient at times.

Thank you for that detailed explanation. Would you have any suggestions as to how I can get this thing to take a charge again?

    Hey it’s just an IDEA…

*I would recommend talking to who you bought it from as opening it up will technically void your warranty.*

I do not know how confident you are with electronics.

This is purely an avenue that *I* would go down.

If you don’t have experience/are not confident with what you are doing then don’t. Playing with Lithium batteries is a risk… You are risking fire/explosion

I have ‘woken’ lithium batteiries before… But these were small mobile phone ones… I consider the packs in tablets/laptops to be much much bigger… that’s a lot more energy…

I’ve messed up polarity before and I’ve had charging circuitry nearly blow up in my face… That was probably the preferred option over a Lithium battery catching fire.

The latter has never happened to me… but if you watch videos on it well you want to be prepared.

Again I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM… IT IS MERELY AN IDEA.

If I was to give you any advice you need to take full responsibility for any damage/warranty being void etc…

    If you don’t have a multimeter well… there’s no point…

Had exactly the same problem.  But I do not think my case is because of letting the battery fully drained.  I was using the tablet the other day.  I’m sure that battery is still 30-40%.  Plugging in a charger and it won’t charge.  No sign of charging (Windows/Android).  Switching several adapters and cables.  Then, attempting to use the OTG cable and it won’t notice it either.

Contacting Gearbest and they accept a RMA.  Now that it is sent back and still waiting a replacement unit to ship back.  I was thinking that it maybe a faulty unit I had. Maybe, I was wrong.

Note: Before sending the unit back, i was able to video and send them a link.  Wipe out all my data and when sent, the unit still has some 10% battery on it.

Gearbest send a replacement and it’s fine.  As far as I can tell.  It’s a new unit (different serial number) and go through the same Windows Updates and all is well.

Except the MicroSD which .. i am no longer want to bother – as long as I still have space in Windows at least.  heh heh.
