    Hello everyone,

I bought my Teclast F5 last week from GeekBuying and it got to me in 2 days! I think it might be a new batch (GKB sold it with a different product id from ES warehouse).

First thing I noticed was that they forgot a piece of plastic glued to one of the hinges. Luckily it was easy to remove! Then, I noticed that the space bar key was not working properly on the right side, and sometimes got “stuck” (not clicky) and unusable.

I used it a bit (and tried to lift the key up and blow under it, in case it was some debris causing it) and that problem seems to be mostly fixed. It’s not perfect, but it’s not bad atm.

But then I noticed another (and bigger, for me) problem:

Whenever I boot, nothing shows up on the integrated display until windows boots. No logo, no BIOS, no Recovery options, and no GRUB if I want to boot Linux from USB.  If I connect an external display (via HDMI or USB-C to HDMI) the boot sequence shows up fine.

Initially I thought it was due to fast boot or something, and disabled all those options. Nothing worked, so I changed options around on the bios until not even external displays worked, and had to do a “blind” reset of the BIOS settings.

Updated drivers in Windows, tried to reflash latest BIOS (3.06), and even tried to flash NVRAM, which proved to be a bad idea (currently reinstalling Windows and hoping for the best).

Already e-mailed GeekBuying and they want me to send it to Poland warehouse, which can be really expensive. If they cover those expenses, I will send it, otherwise, I would prefer to find a fix for this specific issue myself.

Any thoughts on what else I could try to fix it?

    Thanks in advance!

    I’ll be returning it tomorrow.
