[edit:] I saw someone got the touchscreen working on the Teclast X80 Pro, so maybe it’s possible.  You might have to try lots of different distro’s and kernel versions.
If you don’t get an answer here the logical place to ask is the LinuxMint forums and/or Ubuntu forums . Or try Manjaro XFCE instead of Mint.  I think you’ll need a lot of luck to get the touchscreen working.  XFCE desktop is recommended only because it runs faster on a less powerful machine.  Also Lubuntu or Antix Linux distro’s are faster and light (require/use less RAM).  Antix is easy to try because it can be run completely from a USB drive (with data persistence if you configure it).  But these are not as polished and easy to use as Mint and Manjaro in my opinion.  On a low powered device I think it’s worth it to try to get Lubuntu or Antix working.
