I having the hard choice between the Cube i9 and x3 pro. But i tend to lean towards X3 Pro.
- Stylus- comes very useful as i needed to sketch engineering circuit. The thing is, i wonder the stylus has the palm/hand rejection feature, which is important to me.
- 8 GB ram- For sure it will be useful, i need it for simple 3D modelling. I can use lightly on my X98 Air 3Gwith 2 gb ram, 8 should perform much much better.
- 128 GB- which is great
I am not concern about the Kick Stand, but the screen size f Cube i9 is tempting, i would not have giving it thought, if Cube i9 comes with stylus.
April 24, 2016 at 1:15 pm #34893Frankly, also doubting a lot between the Cube i9 & X3 pro.
The Cube i9 has the advantage of the kickstand, the USB 3.1 port ( what opens up a lot of options ) and the more easy way to mod the tablet ( no glue to remove ). But has 4GB less memory and no active stylus support compared to the x3. And the price … not counting the promotion that some people ordered with, there seem to be a 70 a 80 euro price advantage for the X3.
Both are great tablets but there price ranges are both surprising high ( for the X2 what is just a upgraded version ). Frankly, i find they both are pushing into Dell/HP/Asus tablet price ranges ( especially when one need to deal with shipping costs & import taxes ).
April 30, 2016 at 5:04 am #35580Chris to review X3 pro, i will decide what to get?.Stylus for i think a must, as i could sketch my engineering circuit on the tablet instead of papers. saving it everywhere.i nearly opted for cube i7stylus, but cube i9 and x3pro came into the picture, which leaves me dangling. My current x98air 3G works great, but with new models offering more ram and stronger processor perfomance and bigger SSD memory, it is only natural i will go after the devices like i9 and x3 pro, so i can work better on 3D modelling.
I could opt for a laptop, but to lug around….better i choose for lighter portability, i leave heavy 3D work for my PC.
May 2, 2016 at 8:33 pm #35846I thought the stylus pen dictated the pressure levels on the X3, I can’t find any X3 specific pen, just this one for the X2.

I wish these sites would link to compatible stylus and keyboards on the tablet page instead of screaming at me they are not included !!!
May 3, 2016 at 1:29 pm #35921I’ve just contacted GearBest, they say the X2 pen is not compatible with the X3 and they don’t have any that are.

That means they change the Digitizer, if the old pen X2 does not work anymore on the X3. In other words, it means they made more hardware changes then only the CPU/Memory…
May 5, 2016 at 9:37 am #36140Hmm, more pressure levels ? 1024, 2048…who knows.

There is no official stylus for X3 available. Gearbest always answer according to what they have on their web, even if it’s clearly wrong when compared with manufaturer. And I don’t blame them, so many people are asking shit, so why would they care avout valuable answer.
From both above I think the stylus for X2 pro would work with X3. I have asked Teclast on their facebook, so let’s see what they answer.
Edit: I got reply from Teclast:
yes you can use X2PRO’S stylus for X3PRO
May 7, 2016 at 4:29 pm #36364Jeez, if this true, I think, teclast need to clarify or at least have an answer on this stylus.
May 7, 2016 at 4:37 pm #36366Hard to tell, I wish these sites would employ English people with the ability to supply technical info to manage queries, the one liner answers you get from the sites are useless.
How hard is it for them to say how many levels it supports, and even if they do you have a 50/50 chance they have a clue what they are saying, China seem to work on the premise of tell the customer what they want hear rather than facts, I guess it generates more income for them.
So the X2 works with the X3…at what level of functionality? X3 may support 1024 levels and only use 512 with the X2 pen.
Someone has to buy one and tell the rest of us how they got on…maybe do a YouTube video covering X2 / X3 styluses 😉
I spent all my pennies on a dual xeon build, so not ordering the X3 for a few weeks.

Well, there is only one stylus, which has X3 pro mentioned in description here aliexpress
I think, it’s not different from X2 pro stulus. By now, there is no official stylus for X3, so the X2’s stylus is the only option.I have ordered X3 pro + X2 stylus. Just waiting for shipping, gearbest says shipping in June, hopefully they can ship sooner.
May 8, 2016 at 9:06 am #36416Yup, all confusion could be cleared up if these sites employed people with more tech knowledge.
Strange about the X3 Pro, it now says “Ships between May 12 – May 23” and they tell you June ? …obviously still don’t have any in stock and taking peoples money, a 15 day shipping window is a bit vague.
May 8, 2016 at 9:39 am #36418The problem with China manufacturers, they can be ruthlessly inaccurate and inconsistent. I get the feeling that the chinese market is so big that they really could not be bothered from oversea complains.Leaving Chris and other to help solve the issues. I could not complain on the product for the price they offered, at least they could be consistent in rolling out without major issues and inaccurate description of the product. The smartphone side has done good. Why tablets maker could not be consistent. I am sure buyer would not mind paying more ……..
May 9, 2016 at 9:32 pm #36571I reckon its the same as the x2 prowith 256 levels..(and 256 or 1024 or 2056 levels, tjahh ? dont feel it a world of difference in use)
I would like more that they got different tips, and a softer one in rubber’ish finish..
anybody disasempled one of the x2pro stylus, and if the hardplastic-tip can be exchanged for an rubberone.
but overall, it works as expected, the pressure seems okay in the apps that supports it and with price in mind you cant realy complain, i recall i paid around 15US for the x2pro stylus in fall15.
but there is something IM a little unsure about and thats the on/off .. it seems to be it just activates the moment it close to the tablet and it works great, but my x2 pro is often just in landscape mode on an stand for stockquotes streamingprograms where the deep canvas is ideel, and with the x2 pro stylus on the side of the x2 pro and the magnets on the side of x2 pro holds it there. (it looks great and works great) but if its the “near the tablet” that turn the stylus on then it will take its toll on the battery, if its allways on when near the tablet. (is that the case)
(but not that big a problem after I have found the AAAA batteries to a couple of bucks shipped for 4 pieces.) but here in Denmark the aaaa batteries are insane pricey ‘ if you can find them.
but I would definately recomend the stylus for the x2 or x3 and what your getting for relative little money, for come on 15US shipped, certinly aint a lot, and just the battery almost cost more here, and same with shipping, and getting active stylus with pressure sensitivity for that kind of money, is impressive.-
cons, its a bit unprecise around the edges, at least in some apps, but it seems to be an overall stulys-tech-issue when near edges.
I noticed the review of the Tbook teclast stylus T10pen, with mix-views and lacking press-sensitivity , and if that goes for around 32US , the x2/x3 stulys is a no brainer on the x2/x3 tablets and I for one’ love the thin form factor in regards to some pressure sensitivity-stylus is quite bulky..
Will love som insigt about how this stylus work and its on/off details
// edit, have just checked the current-comsumption with an multimeter, when its near the tablet it uses 0.25mA and when it connected to the screen and in specific use and touching the screen it’s around 0.60mA
