Teclast x80 power. Need reset to factory setting. Please help!

My son has locked his tablet woth a pattern password. Now I’m guessing i need to factory rest to unlock it?

I’ve read a post on here and the suggested method doesn’t work?

Suggested method is power on with volume down. Select recovery mode. The power and volume down to access a menu with factory reset? I select recovery mode and get a android figure and Chinese written underneath. Tried power and volume and nothing??

Can someone please help?
