PLS ADVISE.for returning, they are asking to send back the item as disliked item and 20% restocking fee. they are saying to clear cache and reset tablet to solve issue and telling that if you run heavy games for long time the tablet will be hung.
but videos show clearly it is hardware issue.
thanksJuly 3, 2015 at 11:20 am #6496This is what I do, record a video of the tablet issue and send them the link. Insist it’s a hardware issues. That the Teclast X98 Air 3G did have some issues with 3d Freezing on some batches.
Mine is a C5J6 the latest 64GB model.

Again if you try to run cmd prompt to know product key, you will see eempty fields there. Most of the devices that come with preloaded windows will have volume keys but not retail key, so, that authorisation lies entierly within the discretion of OEMs, who generally buy volume keys in bulk quantities and they will have some time to pay the full amount, therefore they take advantage of remotely controlling our devices by disabling boot rrecord which is exatly what happened in my c5j6 case bought in may 2015. Presently it is not booting and asking for original boot installation cd. I tried all known commands to retrieve missing boot record which lies in 100mb system partition 16. I have attached imgs in some other threads. After my desparate methods to retrieve through gpt based boot cd, i wiped the disk to reinstall rretail version. after some part of installation it gave a message that it encountered some problems and required to restart, after that when i tried to restart. Power is not getting on Even there is enough juice.
I found that:
These types of OEM issues is not common with teclast but Lenovo, Dell, Acer and many other brands take advantage oof OEM and try to swindle money by asking customers to pay for original cd/dvd, resetting caches etc. I complained this issue to Microsoft people that why they are issuing projects like teclast tpad project when they are in still R&D stage and giving pending original whql signatures.
I think i lost my tablet badly. It is just a crap now.July 10, 2015 at 11:29 am #6737NOTE: For Indian Users only
Hi ,
the seller agreed for a refund .and asked to return the tablet by regesitered post that has tracking.
when i went to (india) post office ,they opened and checked my parcel and said that PHONES and TABLETS are not permitted to send. they refused to take the parcel.i dont know what to do now. dhl/other couriers are too expensive.
is it repairable by local service technicians.
cant use my tablet for my work because of random shutdowns.
and also there is no resale value of the tablet here.August 29, 2015 at 1:43 pm #10537Hi,
I purchased teclast x98 air 3g 64gb c5j6. It has 3D gaming issues too.
According to the official website, X98 tablets that come from some batches get hanged while playing 3D Games such as Real Racing 3, Riptide GP2, Frontline Commando 2 and Asphalt 8.
I know that a patch has been done but I’d like to know 2 things :
- Is there any X98 tablets that are not affected by this issue at the start or you need to use the patch always whatever fimware?
- if I do an update of android firmware could the problem be solved by itself ?
My seller told me to return it for a refund. I would like to have an answer to both questions to find out if it’s worth to order another X98 tablet?
THANKS.

some batches are good others are not .
i updated firmware, and android 5.0 still problem persists in both android and windows.
it also has random shut off issue when it heats to 70deg.
return tablet for refund if it is economical for you.it is chipset fault.software mod for fixing freezing is temporary ,only in android, any firmware ,havent tried it as it not pmt fix.
tablet is worth if you get perfectly working one with no issues. else loss.
