    I have the same issue – was this ever fixed?

    No.  I’ve not had any new firmware and I can’t get any response from Teclast about it either.

    The custom ROMs I looked into using (a while back) all seem to have their own issues so I didnt go down that route either.

    If you come across a fix,please report back.
