Teclast X98 Plus dead? Only gets very hot

Hi everyone

My X98 Plus have been working fine for 4 months, but after standby in Windows for some days it won’t turn on anymore. I have tried charging it with several different charges and cables and tried short and long power button presses while charging and after. Nothing is shown on the screen 🙁

Strange thing is that if I charge the tablet and then press the power button for a few seconds, the tablet gets very hot after a short while until it runs out of power. So something is happening ….?!?

I feel its hard bricked, you might have to flash bios. Check this:

Maybe a bad battery.

Thanks for the replies. I have never tried flashing the bios, so I dont think that can just brick / not work (but yes, anything can happen 🙂 )

Regarding the battery – the days in standby might have broken the battery, but it is still possible to charge it and turn the tablet on (it will get very hot) and off (PWR in 10 sec and it will become cool again). Nothing is ever shown on the screen.

Anyway I will have to contact Banggood to get an replacement
