Is the WiFi only performing poorly in Windows or both Windows and Android?
Both work poorly for me.
July 23, 2016 at 7:05 pm #44299I’m working on my final review video edit soon, but it’s going to get a hammering for the poor wifi speeds. It’s worse than almost everything I’ve tested in the last year. I recommend getting the X98 Plus (First version).
Hi,
Could you please confirm that there is a significant difference between both models regarding to the Wifi signal?
And if you compre Plus II Vs Pro? It is more or less the same difference that Plus and Plus II?

July 24, 2016 at 8:16 am #44324@chris Can you please verify whether it is indeed as pepe’s video states? Is the WiFi working okay when that part of the tablet isn’t covered?
July 24, 2016 at 12:20 pm #44342I have been reading in other forum that a member got the wifi problem resolved by changing the routers channel.Hope this help
July 24, 2016 at 11:10 pm #44373I tried what is in the video. The wifi connection is much better when you use the tablet with the camera on your left.
July 24, 2016 at 11:29 pm #44374There is an OTA update available for the X98 plus II.
Anyone install it?
July 25, 2016 at 1:16 pm #44407Hello, I have a problem on this device, maybe someone of you guys can help me.
Device is not rooted, updated on 1.05 rom.
All the streaming apps i have installed like SkyGo or Infinity or TimVision believes that my device is rooted and they do not allow me to play paid contents: see at the attached screenshots.
Any ideas?

I did something wrong with my Teclast x98 Plus II. I flashed a wrong rom so Android is broken now, so I need to download the stock ROM to flash it but I can’t access to your link. I always got a white page 🙁

July 27, 2016 at 5:58 pm #44754@chris, for those considering getting an x98 plus II but concerned about the wifi being really sketchy… are there any mods you’ve done in the past for improving the antenna or should we just go with x98 plus v1?

For now, I recommend the first X98 Plus. Been a long time since I’ve done any wifi mods.

Next up for review:
Ordered and waiting for my: BMAX S15 & Teclast F6 Plus
Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30July 28, 2016 at 5:11 am #44802just got my hands on plus II. being my first teclast tablet, i’m generally satisfied with the price/performance value.
good:
- nice screen, bright and good contrast. some light edge bleed, screen was a little off centred, but still acceptable
- built quality. feels solid and good on the hands
- Android: fluid and removed all bloatwares . Windows: great, performs as expected
Bad
- as known, wifi issues. this has really bugged me alot, just a level up from where wifi is, speed is patchy and often, not stable. i’m still fiddling around to improve this, hopefully. strange that this issue happens, as teclast has released many similiar tablets before this. hope it’s just a software issue
- static sounds (or what it’s call?) when earphones are plugged in.
overall, quite a bargain, for the price if the wifi issue is fixed. probably i shouldn’t skimp on USD20ish more on Plus (I) version. oh well..
for those out there, go for the x98 Plus (I)..at least it’s proven of a less issue
