The X98 Plus is kinda picky with the chargers – I had similar problem like you until I found the Raspberry Pi 3’s 2.5A 5.1V charger provides the needed power: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2RBizCCBOA
I haven’t succeeded with my Note 4’s charger (it charged, but very slowly), my Nexus 7 2012’s charger (didn’t work), the X98’s original charger with a longer or shorter USB cable (the latter at least charged), a noname Chinese 2.5A charger…
I’ve ordered 3 more RPI3 power supplies to have a few spare. :)) Because I want to have one at home, one at work… At least I can use my tablet while charging.
Have a nice day, y'all!
May 9, 2016 at 9:58 pm #36578Thank’s a lot .. I will try that..i just will have to wait a month or more waiting for it..right now can i use 3.1 mah 5v charger? Or it will damage it?
May 9, 2016 at 11:10 pm #36594Hello Sed. I don’t have a solution for your problem. But it’s a shame that the new device you received did not work. Did you consider maybe returning it to the company for faulty hardware, charger etc…..?
May 10, 2016 at 12:32 am #36606We’re still in dispute…i didn’t agree with the seller’s solution..i don’t want to loose 40 usd for shipping it back..it’s their fault..i think i shoukd escalate to alibaba (by the way i bought this thing from Et star store in aliexpress. Any advice?
May 11, 2016 at 12:33 am #36731Hi
I returned the tablet but iam confused now..are these teclast x98 plus..bad tablets i lost trust in them..any advice? I need a dual boot tablet not above 200$. Good battery and not less than 9.7″ screen..any best suggestion?
May 11, 2016 at 3:21 pm #36842Teclast isn’t that bad, at least its tablets has good HW quality – SW-wise it’s not the best. You cannot even charge a Surface Pro 3 or 4 without the proper power supply: “Your Surface is designed to work best with the included power supply. Using a third-party power supply may result in slow charging.” It’s a problem with these tablets – they require a lot of power -, but it’s not Teclast’s problem.
I was able to fully charge my X98 Plus 3G in less than 4 hours from 6%, which is quite normal, but with the included charger it was more than 7 hours, and I had to turn the display off to let the charging begin.
Here’s a quality comparison on TT: http://techtablets.com/recommended-chinese-tablets-brands/
Avoid Onda like hell, the others are OK.
Have a nice day, y'all!
