So I bought the Hi12. Expected that there could be teething problems and some work to do perhaps but the device for the first couple of days was excellent.
Then the problems began.
The supplied 3mA charger failed overnight and left the tablet 60% charged. Then the tablet refused to boot or show a charge led – only way was to try that 3 short 1 long power presses several times. This worked, could boot into windows & android. Left the tablet in Windows and put it one charge.
Next morning the tablet instead of having charged, seemed to be dead (2.1mA charger) . Another bout of power button pressing got it to boot into windows where it showed 0% battery and shortly shut down (despite being connected to mains).
Since then – nothing. Left on charge but it is dead as the parrot from the Monty Python sketch.
I bought from ebay uk as it was quickest and afforded a degree of protection. This is the response from the seller:
Sorry for the defects.
Please try to refurbish the Tablet: http://forum.chuwi.<wbr />com/thread-1160-1-1.html
Password:en.chuwi.comAfter refurbishment, please try to charge it via good charger/adapter.
If it was still can't be charged after refurbishment, then the firmware may have some defects.
Would you mind to go to your local repair shop to check whether the problem was battery?
Thank you so much for your time and we are waiting for your reply.</h3>
Not sure how to proceed – I mean I am technically capable of undertaking this (presumably a bios flash?) but I don’t want the seller to worm out of refunding/replacing the tablet if I mess about with it. Also I don’t know how you check the battery in a sealed unit – I certainly ain’t taking it apart nor do I have a local shop as I live in the countryside. Before I make any decision on this I thought I would see if anyone else has encountered/rectified similar problem(s) and think this do-able, or whetgher I should just look for a refund.
Sorry for long post…

I have send several emails to them and Chuwi (2 months ago and 4 weeks ago) without any respond, if somebody here in this forum can point me in the right direction would be great.
