I wondered the same but didn’t find a key combination that did it. I use an app called Power Toggles that lets you add icons to the notification panel including a shutdown menu that includes Recovery. Still it would be nice to have a way to get to recovery if android was broken. You can connect to a pc and use adb to reboot to recovery but I guess it would need at least partially boot android for that to work.
July 13, 2016 at 12:45 pm #43354For some reason i cant see my 128gb ntfs card anymore. It worked for 2 weeks. Is it because of supetsu update?

To get to recovery is pretty easy, boot your device, when the os select screen disapear pres and hold vol- untill the green robot comes up, then select boot to recovery with vol – or + and press turn on button, it will then boor to recovery

OK, thanks, all about timing when to hold the vol – button. I can get to the green robot now but when recovery is selected it’s not booting to TWRP only to a black screen. If I look closely I can see the backlight is on and I have to long hold power button to force off. However rebooting to recovery from Android does load the new TWRP.

I ran into the black screen problem too, seems like 3 short then a long press on the power on button solve that
I had to find another way to get to recovery, since i coulden boot Android after trying to install xposed
July 21, 2016 at 12:08 pm #44085The script runs successfully but i only get a black screen when it should boot into trwp?
Can’t seem to get the 3 press and power method working, It always boots to black screen?
If i just hold down – I get to normal recovery but theres no options and the robot is still, is that normal?
Noticed OEM unlocking disables itself after reboot is this normal?
I get this error too while restoring to stock
oid OS (Dual OS)\firmware.bin”` failed
Is that normal?
I finally succesfully got root using the alternative method and now trying to figure out how to flash trwp. Will have to stop for the day but been going for hours trying to do this.
I tried that flashing app but it said the device isn’t supported, maybe cos i didn’t dl from playstore will try again and fastboot method

Seems like the usb cable was at fault for Too many links error

After temp twrp does the install I get a msg can’t mount the storage.

Yes, but you need to flash Remix with modified boot.img first.

August 19, 2016 at 4:00 pm #47367If you have a black screen on recovery, you need to connect your tablet to an external monitor. I got mine working like that… I don’t know why it defaults to external source even tho no cable was connected.
Hope that helps

I found to avoid black screen on recovery don’t rush the OS selector screen but wait for it to time out.
Another time you can get a black screen is if you try to power on too soon after a shutdown. The OS is not fully off when the screen turns off but several seconds later.

I had the same problem. If I connect to an external monitor via HDMI then I can see the TWRP screen, but because of the size I cannot see the whole screen and some parts are out of my monitor. Does abybody know how to get the complete screen inside my monitor?. Thankyou
