I bought a 700 Police .308 in 2003. It is still a one hole rifle if I do my part. I almost did my part with this target.

The Remington 700P is a great choice, especially if you’re looking for a solid, reliable bolt-action rifle. The “P” typically refers to a police or precision model, which is built for accuracy and heavy-duty use. The barrel inlet/profile is important because it ensures that the barrel fits properly within the stock, providing better stability and accuracy, especially for long-range shooting. When I worked on a custom 700P build a few years ago, I swapped out some bolt action rifle parts to fine-tune the trigger pull and bolt smoothness. It made a noticeable difference in performance! If you’re looking to get the best accuracy and precision out of your rifle, paying attention to these details, including the inlet and profile, will make a big difference.
