And before the mod…
June 5, 2016 at 11:27 am #39911Not bad, I used a copper 15 x 15 x 1 shim on my Atom chipset only. RAM might need it, but normally I find that the eMMC and RAM don’t need any special attention. And having them on the same plate causes heat to be transferred to them which isn’t a good idea or could add more heat to the Atom.
My max temps are 68 degrees, so close to yours. Before it go to 77 degrees degrees. But Chuwi did a decent enough job with the heat spreader shield and thermal pads on the SoC and one large one transferring heat to the rear metal housing.

Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30June 5, 2016 at 12:20 pm #39920After various error and retry I’ve found the right set to cool down my chuwi HI12. I’ve used 0,3mm copper plates and artic silver paste on CPU, RAM and CHIPSET in general. 1mm thermal pad over aluminum plate. Here are my min and max temps after 1 hour and half of HEARTSTONE playing.
If I understand you well you have inserted the 0,3 mm copper plate between the CPU and RAM chips, and the aluminium plate and replace the original blue thermal pad over the CPU by using artic silver paste instead. Whereas Chris has covered only the CPU? Am I correct?

one copper plate for cpu, three for ram and one on the chip near the top of the motherboard (plates are 15x15x0.3 http://www.ebay.it/itm/252106050634?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ) .
