    Hello all,

After changing the SSD & putting in a thermal pad the touch screen stopped working correctly – to be precise, touch input only works in the top inch or so of the screen and wacom pen input still works fine on the whole screen.

Any idea on what it could be? I would suppose that if the screen had been broken that the wacom wouldn’t work either, so not sure what’s going on.

    NOTES:

    • I did need to mess around in the BIOS some to get it to recognise the USB drive – I don’t think I changed anything there that should affect the screen but maybe I’m wrong?
    • When I started to try and open up the tablet I was actually prying off the glass from the screen (what I get for doing these things in the middle of the night) – however, that was along the top edge (where touch still works).
    • Calibration doesn’t help (no touch actions are registered at all below that upper inch or so).

OK, so after some sniffing around I noticed that the connector cable for the touch screen is precisely in the upper left corner (where I focussed my erroneous efforts to separate the screen) – so I suspect I either loosened the connector and/or damaged it.

Assuming it was damaged, can anyone confirm whether or not the touchscreen for the i7 Stylus is the same as the i7 Book? Because I haven’t been able to find any i7 Book replacement screens and Banggood has a i7 Stylus replacement screen for 34€…
