Touchscreen calibration issue

Please bear with me because yes I’m aware of the other topics on this issue, but there does not seem to be a final solution to this.

When i received my X98 3G I reinstalled Windows 10 (completely fresh install) and noticed it actually found most of the drivers on its own. After placing the touchsetting.gt file from the driver package in the INF folder the touch function worked but felt a bit ‘off’. I did not use the tablet at all before reinstalling so am not sure if the issue already existed. It was just not registering every touch and seemed horizontally misaligned (in landscape) by about 1cm. Calibrating through windows did nothing so I hit the forum where I downloaded another touchsetting.gt file learned about the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TouchPrediction registry tweaks. It works better now but is not as accurate as I would like. I searched for a while but it seems there are no further fixes and I’ll just have to live with it…

Now I’ve rebooted it a couple of times, I noticed the exact same misalignment (1cm below my finger in portrait) in the dual boot selection screen. I can see the mouse pointer pop up 1cm to the side from where I’m tapping and Android doesn’t seem to be much better… This leaves me to think it is more of a hardware issue that happens to be solved by using a different driver configuration file in Windows.

Is there a better way of fixing this issue or am I stuck with having to adjust my taps by about 1cm in the boot screen/Android and laggy touch response in Windows?

The only thing that fixed this for me was flashing the stock image of windows, which can be found at the below links. I tried multiple drivers and was not able to get anything that would fix it otherwise.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike but after applying the alternate touchsetting.gt file and reg tweak Windows is actually doable now. The accuracy in terms of coordinates is good, but sometimes it just fails when trying to drag items for example. It works fine when I apply a bit more pressure than I’m used to during swiping motions. Already removed the (stock) screen protector but that does not seem to change the responsiveness, at least not that I’m noticing.

The boot screen is still misaligned though, so I think the whole issue might be hardware related. Perhaps the digitizer is physically misaligned. Someone here that could confirm whether that is even a possibility?
