Hi
i have the Chuwi hi12 dualboot tablet.
the tablet is for my parents, yesterday installed all the updates , app etc thay need . all worked just fine.
but after restart, the touchscreen does not work anymore, ( its not hardware, couse it does work in android )
tried every thing i could find on the internet , replacing the touchscreen ini, reinstalling drivers etc. nothing worked
there must be a other conflict going on, couse for a brief second the screen worked after reinstalling, ( just one time ! )
wat can be the problem , i have 20 years of pc experience so all the logical options have been tried !
also looked at the windows defender to see if it removes anything , but could not see any file had been removed by defender.
non of the drivers for the screen make any difference , also tried to look for the original Surface pro 3 screen drivers since the screen is the same als this did not work.
i am thinking of reinstalling the complete tablet without dual boot to fix the problem. if it fixed it at all !
any solutions to try ?
June 5, 2016 at 11:34 am #39918in a thread below there is a file touchscreen.gt that works wonders with the touch. If that doesnt help you consider formating windows
June 7, 2016 at 12:37 pm #40153no I have tried that to , also change it to read-only and does not work. I also tried the touchpad fix , that did not do anything to.
the bios upgrade went wel ( may 18th version ) but dit not change anything.
it looks like something keeps overwriting something , I changed the touch accuracy in pen and touch, and right after pressing apply.
and it worked for a second and then went to not working at all!
just need to keep on fiddling then 😀
I am a bit skeptical about reinstalling , its a dualboot and I want it to be just windows 10
June 8, 2016 at 6:13 pm #40293i have reinstalled the dualboot OS, formatted a 32gb usb to ntfs, made it a bootable usb with rufus.
after that i copied the dualboot file onto the usb, and rebooted the table with the usb in the 3.0 port ( faster 😀 )
and it installed without problems, just booted the usb and it started to install,
did the basic windows setup en the screen works again. made a extra backup after the basis software install so i have a clean install backup.
now just see if windows updates makes the screen fail again !
November 21, 2016 at 2:21 am #57199Hi, hoping you can help my mom spent €300 on this tablet last week. I was in the bios and think I changed something by accident and now touch screen and home button won’t work. Please can you help I’ll be so grateful thanks
November 21, 2016 at 6:48 am #57205@Darragh: If you changed something in the bios it is an easy fix. Just set bios settings back to default in the last menu, before quitting and all must be well again.
November 21, 2016 at 8:24 am #57210I think the problem is that the driver “KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch 12C Device” has been deleted
