It seems to be a general Cherry Trail problem for newer kernels.
The suggested workaround is ti set <tt>intel_idle.max_cstate=1</tt> in the kernel parameters. So far the Lapbook works without freezes since I added this to grub startup routine.

I would try one of Linuxium’s latest Ubuntu disto’s which are modified specifically to work better on Cherry-Trail devices… has added device drivers, etc. http://linuxiumcomau.blogspot.com.br/2017/01/bleeding-edge-ubuntu-4100-57-kernel.html If you have the newer Apollo-Lake Celeron version of Chuwi Lapbook I would just try Linux Mint Mate 18.1 (or the Cinnamon desktop version of it)
