Hi Clive,
Very good windows tablet, problem is poor design and firmware. The tablet has very small 2.5 mm DC plug, you need to take deep breath and keep your hand steady every time you try to plug it in. If the small pin inside the host on the laptop is broken, you got no other chance to charge the battery again. It can not be charge from the USB port. The worst thing is the plug head, it is not right angle(L shape), it can be broken easily, also, you need to keep an eye while charging, sometime it may come off and stop charging.
About android, my fingers got pain for 2 days as I try to unlock the android screen, touch responsiveness is terrible! Browser will show Chinese and English mixed while surfing the net.
Keyboard docking is wobbly and heavy tablet with large screen can be more fragile if you use on your lap on a trip. Touch pad on the key board does legging sometime. 64GB room is not enough for dual OS, got only 11 or 12 GB free space.
These are things all I know about!
January 5, 2016 at 9:22 am #21261probably they have some different versions/batches of this tablet.
but anyway after cleanup and fresh windows installation it runs very smooth and no issues with temperature.the only problem left – charger. i dont know what they smoke. add 5V 2A DC pin-plug instead of another microUSB socket. this was definitely the biggest engineering mistake.
i hope they got our message , and next batch will have USB charger.
January 5, 2016 at 9:46 am #21267What about the touchscreen, installing windows only did it help on that part?
And can you do a video tutorial how to install windows only or step by step with pics
Thanks
January 5, 2016 at 10:56 am #21274Mine is fine so far, agree with the power supply issue, mine hasn’t fallen out yet but it is a bit fiddly.
I’ve done the Win 10 1511 update which went smoothly and am currently installing a Windows Baldur’s Gate Big world Tactics version, which may not be familiar to you but is a good stress test as the X16 has been running constantly for the best part of 20 hours doing the install with no issues so far.
Android is not great, Google play doesn’t work so I will need to root this sometime this week.
