i just want to let you know what i know about the new usb-c connector and what it it really or just means:

basically it means you get the new connector (which is reversible) but nothing else!
but you can’t be sure which type of usb (2.0, 3.0, 3.1 gen1, 3.1 gen2) you get and which alternate modes (displayport, hdmi, power delivery) are present.

this article sums it up pretty nicely:
    http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/08/what-the-usb-if-is-doing-to-clear-up-confusion-about-all-these-usb-specs/

    examples:

The OnePlus Two is another example of a device with Type-C with a USB 2.0 controller.
The Nokia N1, one of the first hardware products to support USB Type-C, only supports USB 2.0

right now usb-c is nothing more than a reversible usb2.0 port, usually with some electric modds to enable fast charging (but hose who remember the Google vs One+ cable critics should know, there is no agreemeng about the electic part too)

Actual chipsets do no support usb3.1 fast speed, so we have have to wait for the next gen chipset.
