    Hi, my Hi8 Pro is a little more than a week old.

    I was trying to flash the BIOS using the instructions from CHUWI website. (http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-<wbr />1633-1-1.html)

    Following the directions,

    I installed the driver and flashing tool.

    I put my Hi8 Pro to DNX FASTBOOT MODE.

    Connected USB cable to my tablet and my PC. I see charging light blinking on the tablet but nothing happens on the PC side.

    Monitored in device manager, and it seems like my PC does not even detect it being connected. I tried it on 4 other computers running Windows 7 and Windows 10, but the same result. It’s like connecting a USB powered blow Fans which only receive power from USB ports.

    I contacted the seller to get replacement if it is defective, but he says it is not defective – saying Hi8 Pro is a  computer, so it does not get detected like Android phone devices. Is this true? Then what is up with that Flashing instruction on CHUWI website?

    Is there a trick to make DNX FASTBOOT MODE booted Hi8 Pro device to be “seen” by computers? Or is my Hi8 Pro defective?

    I found the answer myself and is a very simple one. The cable that came with my Hi8 Pro is bad one. It can only be used for charging. I went to Fry’s and got a new type-c cable and now it connects to my PC.

    The seller insisted that using the cable for flashing is unsupported and would void my warranty.. whatever..
