August 3, 2016 at 3:06 pm #45476I wonder the Type-C hub, in particular with HDMI/VGA output, for Macbook is suitable for i7 book also. I asked some Taobao sellers but they are not quite sure.
August 3, 2016 at 6:16 pm #45495Everything you wanted to know about USB Type-C and USB 3.1. It’s more complicated that you thought…
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/usb-31-usb-type-c-refresher,29933.htmlAugust 4, 2016 at 8:20 am #45558That article does answer one question and that is that usb-c can handle anything – it is just down to the manufacturer to decide what they want and to implement it
‘Theoretically, one could route just about any protocol through USB Type-C. Again, this will only be supported if the controller behind the port supports it. ‘

Where did you buy it?
August 6, 2016 at 11:22 am #45879Same situation in the UK. You can have usb3 & hdmi/vga or usb3 & rj45 but not both. However we still don’t know if lan will work yet. I should have the answer in a day or so as my book is due now. I am waiting for that wonderful sound of the doorbell which means the courier has arrived with it 🙂
Edit : if you live in the US you can get
August 9, 2016 at 3:53 am #46193The RJ45 ports on the USB C adapters I’ve used simply show up as a normal USB ethernet adapter. They don’t seem to be USB C specific. You should be able to plug in any USB to ethernet adapter if you need wired ethernet as long as your adapter has USB ports, or you use the included micro USB 3.0 adapter, or one of the keyboard USB ports.
In the US you may buy http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=15758 from monoprice which I have used to simultaneously output HDMI to a 1440p monitor, power the i7 book via the female C connector, and hook up a USB 3.0 hub (for keyboard and mouse) to the single USB 3.0 port. It’s also $50 USD less than the Apple equivalent.
PS-first post here as this is a great tablet for the money and the C port really makes it flexible and usable with desktop monitors, keyboards, etc.
