I haven’t seen full instructions and I was trying to get the backup/restore strategy working on these tablets. My experience had been for PCs and notebooks which worked well but they weren’t uefi. Here’s how to create a bootable UEFI macrium rescue USB.
Download from:

You only need the free version.
Install in your tablet (windows). Then create a rescue disk. Instructions as follows:
http://knowledgebase.macrium.com/display/KNOW/Creating+rescue+media
Make sure that UEFI box is checked.
Booting from Rescue USB
-boot into bios (press ESC @ logo), I used a usb keyboard with hub
-go into save and exit, at the bottom, you should see your USB drive, choose that and it will reboot from USB
Backup/restore! Make sure you have enough power on your tablet or it will fail!
I’ve tested some backup/restore but it didn’t read my microsd. For the time being, I backup to the same usb drive.
answer to below: I did a Windows restore from Rescue USB. Everything seems fine.
–update–I see from Laura’s how-to page that dm-verity will prevent the android restore from working properly.
