Using the charging cable with USB female to female, will usb drive (OTG) work

Hi,

Can I use the “Type-C male to USB male” charging cable that came with the MiPad2 (Windows version) box, and connect it to a USB female to female plug like this one – http://www.amazon.in/Type-Female-Adapter-Adaptor-Connector/dp/B00NROMJP0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1461385093&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+female+to+female

and will I be able to use OTG functionalities. I am mainly interested in transferring data from/to a usb drive.

Possibly but why not just get a proper OTG adapter, they ain’t exactly expensive.
