I’m answering my own question here. The snap on keyboard does not appear to be connect during this early boot, but attaching an external keyboard allows me to enter BIOS (repeatedly hammering ESC). No luck yet booting from USB yet.

    This is easy:

*Boot into Windows, hold shift and restart (keep holding shift)

*A windows boot menu (not BIOS) shows up (I failed the first time so try again if you can see it)

*Select the USB device and boot

With Ubuntu 16.04 (Try before install)

*Wifi works (I connected 5GHz hotspot)

    *Touch works

    *Audio doesn’t seem to work

    *Screen is in portrait mode

On Ubuntu 18.04 (Try before install)

As 16.04 apart from that the screen is upside down and I also tested that Bluetooth can search for devices.
