I also been using a Xiaomi 10ah powerbank http://www.mi.com/en/pb10400/ with this USB to 2.5mm USB charging cable…
I have an update to using one of these “2.5mm USB DC Plug Power Charger Cable” and that is mine only charges at 160ma or 0.16a so it takes forever to charge (like days). Maybe it worked better when I first got it and internally died but looking back I think it was actually always crappy from the start but never noticed until recently when I really needed more power…
I thought maybe it was the charger but it wasn’t, I got a USB power meter and its the 2.5mm cable I got from ebay , the wires are too thin and do not provide enough current to provide any useful charge.. I tested a lot of devices and other cables and everything else runs great, only this $1 2.5mm cable I got from ebay runs like crap…
I guess I should be happy that I didn’t buy the same cable for like $5 or $10 else where, but who knows maybe it would of been a better one but they all look the same..
March 23, 2016 at 4:49 pm #30588Hi,
can you confirm this tablet has a 2.5mm DC plug and not a 2mm one?
I have a 3A power adapter with a 3.5mm DC plug and want to buy an adapter from 3.5mm to whatever this tablet has to be able to use that adapter.
Thanks,

May 3, 2016 at 9:51 pm #35965Thanks William, I got an adapter from a 3.5mm DC to the 2.5mm DC (for a 3A charger I have that has a 3.5mm connector) and it works like a charm.
On the other side, I just realised the cable I had ordered is exactly the same as yours, and obviously it won’t charge at more than 0.14A… what a pile of crap! I had ordered another cable, will see if it works when it arrives.
BTW, the original charger is not working any more for me, it just charges-discharges every second, so the battery gets charged after many many hours, but this is clearly not good for the battery, so I just discarded the charger.

I ordered a few from different sites including ebay etc and they are all bad.. but I paypal disputed my money back since some claimed 2Amps in their descriptions when it couldn’t provide that power so I showed photo of it failing to get even 1/1oth of the promised power.. I think these are meant for only charging devices with tiny batteries like bluetooth earphones etc… thats the only way to explain the tiny current they give..
I did find one that really is a good one, the wires are thicker and it really works well.. full amps power..
Its also a good price USD $2, only $1 extra but x10 better!
This website looks weird but trust me this cable is the real deal..

It really chargers properly I tested it with my USB power meter..
As you can see the cable is visually thicker too.. You can just pay with paypal like ebay etc and its only USD $2 so no worries!
May 17, 2016 at 6:39 am #37643How long are these cables?
Only working cable I’ve found so far are the 60cm cables from AliExpress.I’ve been looking for at least 120-150cm cables everywhere…..//JockeSve

Get a USB extension cable.. there’s little chance you will find a long all in one cable..

Thanks!
Why on earth didn’t I think of that for few weeks ago.
I ordered several different longer (120cm) cables… All in garbage now! 🙁..//JockeSve
June 2, 2016 at 7:28 pm #39645I finally bought a cable in a local electronics shop and it works perfectly (up to 1.9A). It is thicker indeed, and it is 1.2 meters long. It was $4, but it is OK, so all good 🙂
