had the same experience..seems like waking up from a full battery discharge is something these tablests cant do..there are some videos on youtube that shows you how to open up and cutting the red wire and starting the charging process brings these tablets back to life..like jumper cables for your car..its not worth the trouble and time…i switched to Mi Pad and it works perfectly..no issues with battery..only letdown is no duel boot
February 18, 2016 at 6:21 pm #26413Had exactly the same issue if you read my topic in this very subforum. I think the entire 1st batch have this problem. I hope potential buyers really come in and read all our experiences. I will be trying to get a full refund for the tablet but Aliexpress need a video to show them the charger is working… Just spend a bit more money to bring in a USB C adapter cable before I make the video. Its troublesome.
February 19, 2016 at 10:14 pm #26505Did you try this?
February 21, 2016 at 5:22 am #26593The wire to the battery is not so “easy to plug”, is like two wires which requires soldering. Not so easy.
February 22, 2016 at 3:31 am #26668SVW TEch: Yes, I try, I am good at electronics, and have very good soldering skills, so I was confident enough to open the tablet and try, (very easy, 4 Torx screws and pry out the back cover), But as Diego says, the tablet wires are soldered to the main board, not a plug like the tablet in the video, So I desolder the two wires, and reconnect and nothing.
Also I try with a new battery (4000 mAh) Fully charged, and nothing. it doesn’t helped at all, also try to charge the internal battery, (With a proper LiPo battery charger) and then solder it again, but no luck.. it is completely DEAD. 🙁
Also connect the tablet without the battery don’t not work either.
March 15, 2016 at 7:16 am #29455Mine is also dead, after charging it, the tablet wouldn’t start. Never seen this before, I’ve had xiaomi and acer mobile phones and tablets and no problems but chuwi devices seem very buggy.
When I removed the charging cable the orange light was blinking, and after a few hours, stopped blinking and now even if I try charging it, no lights and no boot screen. It’s dead! Not sure if its related to a particular batch, battery or bios.
Thanks Dr. K for the last post. I will send mine for repair under EU warranty but I will not buy a Chuwi again.
March 15, 2016 at 10:41 am #29474Hi. Same to me. 1st charge and now tablet is dead. 🙁
March 20, 2016 at 10:22 pm #30188I wasn’t sure where exactly to post this, so I’m posting it here as my story in some elements is similar to Dr.K’s
I turned it off with not much battery left, same procedure (Windows menu-> Power -> Shutdown), not just pressing the power button.
Next day, I couldn’t turn it on, so I charged it for the majority of following 4 days, trying to power it on almost every half hour.
After 4 days, LED light stopped blinking, I gave up as I thought that tablet completely died.
During next 3 days I was randomly trying to charge it for short periods of time just to see if LED will start blinking again, it didn’t.
I was also trying to power it on in random intervals using known 3 short + 1 long press method.
Today I was literally rubbing the screen to clean it and accidentally pressed power button (apparently long enough), and it somehow got kickstarted.
Battery was at 9% apparently despite long periods of charging during past 7 days. My conclusion is that something with power circuitry is not doing its job properly and tablet wouldn’t reliably charge. Consequently, it wouldn’t power on due to lack of charge. Now it’s happily charging and works just as before. I don’t want to give anyone false hope, I guess I was super lucky, but maybe you shouldn’t give up on your unit and keep trying to revive it if you don’t plan to return it for a refund.March 22, 2016 at 9:55 am #30366Thank you Vedran . Mine “died” like that. I also tried to charge it on the following days but no luck. I’ve sent mine to spain for repair under warranty, still waiting for the diagnostic.
It is a shame that I bought this little tablet that runs windows productivity apps but the unstable battery and charging doesn’t give peace of mind not to take my acer or mbp laptop also, making it a bit redundant.
I’ve read about the chuwi batteries faults, before I bought this tablet, but if you cannot charge the tablet due to the power circuitry or other mysterious reason, you are left with a brick when you are on the go.
