    http://www.teclast.com/en/zt/X80Pro/

I made the sorry decision to buy the Teclast X80 Pro recently.

I have never used a phone, tablet or laptop with worse Wi-Fi reception than this device. I didn’t see any comment about this in all the reviews I looked at before buying it, which I can’t believe. Only now I come across it. So to me this is useless.

Mine is the E6E9 model. Several other issues:

    * supplied 2A USB charger gets too hot & also heats up the unit (near the rear camera) too much. A far slower 1A charger is more recommended to keep thermals sane and for better battery longevity. Battery life itself is very poor. But I expected this.

    * unit will not accept APK files sent over bluetooth despite all the budget less-specced tablets I have not having issues with sending or receiving them. Workarounds like zipping the files need to be performed if you aren’t using USB OTG.

    * unit does not want to accept ‘no’ for an answer on the Location area of Settings (nor allow a dignified exit from this section of Settings). Not surprising in this State Spyware world. And not surprising with Google being a CIA offshoot.

    * manufacturer hosts firmware on expired dropbox links http://www.teclast.com/en/firmware/

To anyone looking at buying this tablet I can only say: Spend your money elsewhere! I feel like an idiot for following all the shill reviews.

    Same problems for me 🙁
It’s very strange that there are not reviews about the wifi bad reception
    Moreover the screen it’s colorpoor
On windows i can setup the gamma and the contrast but on android i can’t do it

Yes, the screen has good resolution but it’s immediately obvious that it lacks decent contrast. Pics and videos look more vivid on my lowly budget low-res Lenovo and Asus devices (devices that are still used today as internet workhorses).

Never again will I listen to any shill reviews. These are the basics that should have been duscussed straight away. A great big f$#& you to all the so-called reviewers who value free stuff and money more than they value basic truth.

I thought it would be nice to have a dualboot high-res tablet to use but I was immediately disappointed. Stay away unless you are keen on throwing away money.

    galih,

Thanks for taking the time to post your message. I sent my Teclast X80 Pro back to the shop after I found out the touchscreen response was also bad. I considered doing a wifi mod some weeks ago though.

I have learned an important lesson about trusting reviews ( especially when the shop moderates online reviews and supplies free gear to people for review)….and I learned not to  trust ‘no name’ Chinese tablets. Now the long wait for a refund.

Thanks to this experience, I have never been happier with my current budget rooted tablets: they have great battery life, great wifi performance, far higher screen brightness, no uneven screen colours, far better contrast…ultimately good but low-resolution screens…and they are configured just the way I like them after months and years of ‘removing most of the spyware  furniture’.

    Thanks again for your help.
