do not update to windows 10 will cause a lot of problems.
December 26, 2015 at 2:14 pm #19993aren’t that problems fixed? for example the touchscreen?
December 26, 2015 at 4:51 pm #20002Here’s what I did.
First thing was followed the instructions found on this site to do a full backup of the internal storage using Marcium Reflect. ( that includes all partitions Windows and Android)
I actually did my backup after my initial setup of the tablet under both OS. This way I could restore to my base starting point if needed.
Next I had used it for about a month and a half before Win 10 upgrade was available. Although I hadn’t installed much on Win8.1 other than activate my Office 365 trial. Otherwise my Win 10 upgrade had no issues and does not seem to have any of the problems others have. Everything works fine. After that I had updated the BIOS to I think the G version which was available at the time. Again I’ve had no issues with doing so.
Android has not had any updates yet, still on 4.4.4. There was information indicating Chuwi would release 5.0 but hasn’t happened yet.
Even if they did and just like with Win 10 if I didn’t like it I still have my Macrium backups that I can restore from. (yes I’ve made others at different stages E.g. Like after upgrading to Win10)
Only caveat I have at all with this tablet is that the micro SD card cannot mount as multiple partitions under Android. This however is NOT a fault of the tablet but rather an issue with how Android deals with external storage after 4.0
Good luck with your Chuwi I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed mine
December 26, 2015 at 5:34 pm #20006Agree with Zellot. First thing install in windows Macrilum reflect free version, make bootable USB, run with these USB your tablet and do a full backup of all partition. Once you do this you can do whatever you wont with your tablet
December 27, 2015 at 1:55 pm #20073OK.. i think thats what i will do, i was actually wondering how you guys were doing the backup.. completely forgot about Disk image software… i might play a bit safe xD do 1 backup when i get it.. set it up for me and do 1 more backup.. and then update windows.. and backup if everything is fine, the bios you recommend the update after windows?
December 28, 2015 at 2:25 pm #20203That is what I had done. Although it was mostly due to the updated BIOS not having been released until after I had already updated to Win10
December 28, 2015 at 3:47 pm #20209@zellot, after the upgrade to windows 10 I can’t adjust the screen brightness and some pop up have blur test issue. What should I do. Except this everything is fine with my tablet.
December 28, 2015 at 6:49 pm #20226btw, the bios to update etc, the most recent is at download section here on website?
