Background
Received the tablet recently, did the usual check and powered on, all worked well. I put a 64Gb SD card in and it was fine, I ran a few programs and downloaded chrome. Windows started updating itself including Win10 v1150. I left it alone to do its stuff before making backup, key, etc. It identified that it did not have enough memory to update, so directed to SD card, all good. It then went into update process, seemed to be stuck on 2% transfer, went to bed expecting it to be complete in morning. I turned it on and started up windows, it went to a black screen and said it needed to roll back the update to previous version. It then shut down. When I restarted the tablet the windows icon is missing. Android works fine, but Windows is missing. The next day it did not even boot into the dual boot rather booted straight into Android. I have little experience with dual boot so,
Question
- Should or can I install a Windows image from Microsoft? Will this just load the OS into the correct partition? Is this partition missing or corrupt as it no longer takes me to dual boot screen?
- Can I somehow roll back to the previous windows and try again? Can it be rebuilt? I can’t get into windows to do anything but is there a means to fix the issue without clean install?
- Should I download the 16Bb Telcast image and install so back to original state and try update again. Or better to use a clean image? Android is still working so I don’t need to reload it but unsure about the dual partition setup.
- I don’t have the Windows Key as I was going to run the BIOS update tool after the auto updates. I have registered the devise through MS login in so will I be OK.
- How do I get into the BIOS to boot from SD card. Can I boot from Micro Sim card or are I better off booting from USB and use a USB SD drive?
6) How do I now get the tablet to boot off the SD car / micro SD as it’s booting into Android?
What should I do? And how do I do it?
