I went through hell to do a clean-installation, even getting it installed, i ran into series of driver problems.

Solved. Yesterday I made a new media, once again. This time to microSD-card by using USB adapter and now my X98 is alive! No idea what was wrong but I think must be ultimate situation if I’ll do re-installing again.

I have noticed the X98 Plus is the most challenging device I have ever owned.

That problem is a driver failure, usually caused by having an extra storage device (SD card or usb) plugged into the machine during an update.  The workaround was to remove all other storage plugins during the update process.  Glad you found an alternative workaround.
