I recently got a Teclast X98 Plus and immediately proceeded to apply all Windows updates. When the update for Windows 1511 build 10586 began, it issued a message that there was not enough space. It required 14.9 GB, whereas my disk had free only 13.8 GB. I inserted a micro SD card with 29 GB free and selected it as the storage for the update. After about 2 hours, the update was still at the copying files stage and had reached only 7%. Concerned that the micro SD card might be related to the slow pace, I turned off the computer, which reverted back to the previous state of Windows. I will skip describing the various other failed attempts, which ultimately caused me to reset Windows, a process that itself took almost 6 hours.
The solution that worked for me was to use the Media Creation Tool (MCT) to create an ISO file of the currently available setup files, which are Windows 1511 build 10586. I copied the setup files to a USB drive, inserted the drive into the newly-reset tablet, and ran setup. After about an hour the installation finished. I then ran Windows update starting from this new base. All subsequent updates completed normally. The tablet is now fully updated and running well.
One lesson learned was that if I had not applied all the interim updates leading up to Windows 1511 build 10586, there was enough hard disk space to apply the 1511 update, which is really a full reinstall of Windows. I suggest that anyone who gets the current X98 Plus tablet should use the MCT to create a setup and apply it to the tablet before doing anything else.
